As discussed at previous meetings we are aiming to make our organised trips out Carbon Neutral with the planting of trees to offset the CO2 emissions that we produce on our runs. After making enquiries with Tree-V (as used by the FBHVC), Norfolk County Council and other local wildlife trusts we have decided to keep the trees local.
Having done some research, we believe that 5 runs per year will create approx 2 tonnes of carbon. We aim to offset this by donating £15 per run (or £75 per year) towards the purchase of trees. No charge to members will be made to cover this, payments will come from our monthly donations along with our tea and cake fund raiser in August.
So we need you, the members, to find out if your local parish council/organisation is looking to plant trees and would like a donation.
Who knows, in a few year's time we might even be able to have a 'tree visiting' run out...
So please ask around and send any suggestions to paul.norfolktriumph@gmail.com
